Launched in 2009, Labouring Beasts is a collection of pen and ink illustrations inspired by folk lore and fable. Available in individual prints and greeting cards, each image represents a new, twisted take on proverbial wisdom, medieval bestiaries, and children’s stories. Kate’s stark, evocative images are influenced by nineteenth-century woodcuts and the fairy-tale realism of art-nouveau prints.
